"The Reckoning, Part II"

Synopsis
The hooded stranger, now revealed as Ares, explains his alliance with the mortal world as his attempt to preserve everything he's built in fear that "they just might forget to make war with one another." Diana's team — consisting of Cheetah (Barbara Minerva), Yara Flor, Etta Candy, Steve Trevor, Siegfried, Billy Batson, and Mary Bromfield — reluctantly accept his support.
Hera and the Gods of Olympus arrive to wage war, but it's decided that she and Diana will face off alone. During the fight, Hera makes the case that humanity isn't worth fighting for; "All I see is hate, ignorance, abuse!" Diana argues, "Humanity is not the worst of its parts."
After Diana is knocked down, Mary transfers the power of Shazam into the Amazon who returns to the fight as a fully-powered god.

Synopsis
While Hera regroups, Diana uses the opportunity to confer with Mary, now stripped of her powers as the Champion of Shazam. Diana confides that her increase in power has forced her to reflect on her lack of humanity, comparing her own upbringing to that of Mary's, glimpses of which she saw during the transfer of power. Diana recognizes Mary's strength despite the cruel world she grew up in, "Possessing a warrior's heart in a fragile mortal form. Despite it all, you rose to become a hero. To save others. To save me. You are not a burden, Mary. You are a marvel."
Diana summons a chest as a gift to Mary from the Amazons: a laurel wreath, winged boots, and a pair of bracers; supplemented by a Wonder Woman t-shirt that Billy insisted she sign. Following an attack from Typhon, Mary, clad in a new outfit that has granted her powers, rises to strike the god, forcing him to retreat. She and Diana take to the skies as she declares her name, "MARY MARVEL!"
