Synopsis
A riot breaks out at a top secret, maximum security prison.
Meanwhile, in Washington DC, Diana — with the help of a few girlfriends — is busy moving into a new apartment. Emma, a younger girl who lives down the hall, chases after Mullaney, her pet rabbit who has hopped his way past the movers and into Diana's new home.
Emma finds Mullaney snug in Diana's arms and apologizes. But Diana and the rabbit have become friends. Emma is fascinated by Diana's decor, which is mostly vases and statutes. Diana concedes that she needs furniture. Emma holds Mullaney and looks at her hand, seeing the word "RUG" written across it and remembers why she was chasing him. She explains to Diana that he chewed up the bathroom rug and she needs to buy a new one.
Soon, Diana and Emma are inside Furn — a furniture store — where the younger provides a lesson in couch-shopping. Later, the two are in the parking lot, Emma with a new rug and Diana with a receipt for a new couch that will be delivered later in parts. "A couch I will build myself for nine hundred dollars," Diana muses.
Just then a loud tire screech is heard as a nearby SUV speeds out of the lot. A man with a crying toddler in his arms calls after it, "Sarah, stop!" Diana discards the receipt — and her high-heeled shoes — and races off in pursuit as the car enters the highway into oncoming traffic. Inside the SUV another toddler wails as the woman behind the wheel smiles pleasantly, unfazed by the situation. Her eyes, red.
Diana gains on the SUV as oncoming autos swerve wildly out of its way. The child continues to wail as the woman cheerily talks about stopping for ice cream. Diana leaps into the air, sailing above the SUV, slipping through the passenger window — just in time to see a box truck directly ahead. Diana grabs the wheel, demanding that the woman "Hit the breaks!" But it's too late. The woman's eyes change to a pleasant green but her face is now struck with horror as the truck bears down on them.
Only it doesn't. Diana has stopped it. Somehow ejecting herself from the SUV and landing between the two vehicles, she has prevented the collision through sheer strength, but precisioned enough to minimize the damage and save life.
And soon, as the truck driver is attended by EMTs and the family is reunited; father now holding both toddlers, Diana consoles the mother, "What did you see?" Shaken, the woman answers through tears and insists that she only saw the road and her kids, she thought she was just driving home. "I would never put my children in danger," she begs. "Please believe me." Diana glances at the frightened father holding frightened children and assures her, "I believe you."
Later, at the prison riot, military helicopters swarm overhead as a situation report is relayed to Wonder Woman: power and surveillance is cut, 174 meta-prisoners led by twelve recent additions, all possessing abilities from all over the spectrum, "Matter transmuters, energy manipulators, powerful--" Diana cuts in: "Psychics."
Crashing through the prison skylight, she lands in the middle of the twelve, their eyes aglow in the darkness. They fight. But they are no match for Wonder Woman. Suddenly they stop. Maxwell Lord has appeared in a doorway. He has commanded it. "Stop!" The twelve look at him. Then he gives another command: "DIE." And they all shank themselves in the throat.
Diana faces him, "Max Lord." He smirks, "Wonder Woman. Diana. Here to save the day? Or kill me?
She stands ready with shield and sword, "That entirely depends on you."
