Supergirl is a DC Comics superhero most often associated with Kara Zor-El, a survivor of the extinct planet Krypton who was sent to Earth where she acquires incredible powers and abilities from the yellow sun's radiation. She is the cousin of Kal-El, known publicly as Superman; their fathers were brothers. In many versions of her story, Kara was sent to Earth as an adolescent to watch over Kal-El as a baby. But due to time dilation effects in space, she arrives as a teenager after Kal-El has already reached adulthood.
Supergirl has had many adventures with Wonder Woman over the years, in several continuities.
- When the Kryptonian Supergirl was introduced in 2005 during the Post-Crisis continuity, she is sent to Themyscira to live among the Amazons and learn how to hone her power. This comic book storyline was adapted in 2010 as an animated film titled Superman/Batman: Apocalypse.
- In Adventure Comics #397 Supergirl enlists the aid of a depowered Diana Prince and the witch Morgana to help her defeat the evil magician, Zond in "Now Comes...Zond." (1970).
