“You have brought us six months closer to the end of the war. You're wonderful.”
—Wonder Woman, "Fausta, The Nazi Wonder Woman"
Steve Trevor is a World War II major in the Unites States Army Air Corps Intelligence Division who parachutes to the shores of Paradise Island after a dogfight with a Nazi pilot. Near death, Trevor is discovered on the beach by Princess Diana who rushes him to the island hospital where she serves as his nurse. When questioned under special serum, Steve reveals the Nazi threat to mankind. He also stirs strange, new feelings within Diana.
The Queen decides that he must be returned to America. Diana is chosen to escort him back after she wins a special tournament of athletic games. She pilots the Invisible Plane, delivering him back to America where she adopts the secret identity of "Diana Prince," a Navy WAVE, and becomes his secretary in General Blankenship's Intelligence Division at the War Department. Ignorant of her duel identity, Steve fights by Wonder Woman's side as they face gargantuan guerillas, man-made earthquakes, judgments from outer space, and of course, the evil of the Nazis.
Eventually, they help make the Axis fold and war soon comes to an end in 1945. Wonder Woman's mission complete, she returns home[1] and Steve goes on to become a Major General, eventually marry and raise a son, before his death sometime prior to 1977.[2]
