History[]
The Greek Goddess of Marriage and Women, as well as the Queen of Heaven and the Gods, Hera is the second wife and older sister of Zeus, King of the Gods. The mother of many Greek gods and goddesses; however, Hera is not the mother of all of Zeus' children, a point of great contention, as Zeus continuously disguises himself in varied forms to seduce other goddesses, nymphs and mortal women.Hera claims that her retaliations against these women and their children, for the most part, is out of her love for Zeus, or because he betrayed her and their marriage. This is evidenced when she caused the floating islands of Themyscira to collapse into the sea after finding Zeus spying on one of the island's resident Amazons. Hera, when angered, can be incredibly vengeful.
