Don Heck broke into comics in 1949. The next four decades saw him pencil for Marvel and DC and most companies in-between. Along with Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, Heck helped create the "Marvel superhero universe" in the early sixties. And he would draw almost every DC character in every title throughout the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. His notable Wonder Woman contributions include drawing the first Nubia in "The Second Life of the Original Wonder Woman" and being the last regular Volume One artist, ending with, "Of Gods and Men." Don Heck would continue working for DC and Marvel into the 90s. He died in 1995 at age 66.
