Darkseid is an interdimensional being who rules over his home planet of Apokolips in the realm of the Fourth World. In his efforts to expand his tyranny throughout the multiverse, Darkseid often finds himself in direct conflict with Earth's mightiest superheroes, including Superman and Wonder Woman.
Notable Crossovers[]
- Wonder Woman meets Darkseid for the first time in 1988's Action Comics #600 when she teams up with Superman and travels to Olympus after receiving an urgent summons from Hermes. There they find that the home of the Greek gods has been invaded by Darkseid in an effort usurp the Olympians' power.
- In 1995 John Byrne sets Diana on a fresh start in Gateway City where she intervenes in what appears to be a street-level crime. But further investigation leads her — and new ally, police officer Mike Schorr — to Apokolips and into the clutches of Darkseid, where he's planning a second attempt on the Gods of Olympus.
- In the aftermath of the 2001 Our Worlds at War crossover event, Darkseid gloats over Wonder Woman's losses, which includes a part of her soul that the Amazons channeled into him, helping him defeat the universe-destroying Imperiex. But Diana reminds him that a part of her will always be within him now.
- In the 2018 story "Amazons Attacked," Wonder Woman, her brother Jason, and Steve Trevor thwart Darkseid's efforts to transform the Amazons of Themyscira into a new parademon army in order to reclaim his throne on Apokolips.
